Tuesday 03/06/12

Three in a row. Another beautiful day. Total sun with very mild winds. Temps in Denver hit a high of 73 degrees with temps at the ski resorts in the HIGH 40s and low 50s. We travelled to Beaver Creek to ski. After parking at the bottom of the mountain, you take a shuttle a short distance to Beaver Creek Landing. You take the lift there to the top and ski down to the Ritz Carlton hotel. After that to take another lift to the top of this mountain, going past many homes right on the slope. From the top you ski down to the Arrowhead Grill. You then start the trip to Beaver Creek Village. Some of the trails are VERY steep. After skiing past the beginners area which includes a movable sidewalk inside a tunnel, to arrive down at the village and take the escalator down to the bus to take us back to the parking lot. When we arrived at the village, the only lift back up the mountain was OUT OF SERVICE. To go back up the mountain you had to walk across the village and take the lift on the other side. We decided to go back home.
